Creative Church is a worship experience (yes, it counts as church) Grounded in the theology that you are a wonderfully created being
AND
There should be frequent opportunities to reflect the Creator by being creative
Creative Church is not about a perceived outcome or project, but rather a process
How can we invite the sacred and the holy and God into this process?
Let’s create to Find out!
Together we explore different artistic mediums and through scripture, story and our own experience we create art or writing to reflect what’s going on in our souls. The marjority of our time is spent in creation and then we assemble a communal gallery to observe and share feedback (if consented) about how the creation time went for us. It’s mainly about the process not the product at Creative Church and we know sharing your work is vulnerable, so don’t worry, everything you make is valued at Echoes. Making things with our hands is not only therapeutic but spiritual.
All are considered artists in our community because all it takes is time to create! So let share some creative time together.
“Once you accept that it is natural to create, you can begin to accept the second idea that the creator will hand you whatever you need for the project. Try to remember that God is the great artist. Artists like other artists.” -Julia Cameron (A Living Patron Saint of Creative Church)
