We've got a new location this week! The Whatcom Land Trust does extraordinary work to preserve land in our county, and they recently purchased and renovated an old house near City Hall. This is a fabulous local non-profit and we're fortunate to use their digs for a few weeks.
The "Dinner" part of the evening is a potluck. Bring whatever you'd like to eat for dinner, with enough to share. We can always use entrees and side dishes. The meal is never the same, and it's always enjoyable :-)
The "Listening" aspect is our community's attempt to become better at the life-giving practice of listening. During these events we have learned about community organizing, offered our responses to Scripture, and listened to some journey stories. Echoes got its name partly because we want to be a community that listens well. In particular we are listening for God might be doing in this region, and listening to what is happening in Bellingham. In order to get better at listening both individually and corporately, we are making it a priority by having monthly Dinner and Listening events. This is a great way to get an idea of what Echoes is like (and we're easy to be around).
Location is Whatcom Land Trust at 412 N Commercial St. If you're on Lottie St., facing City Hall, look to the right and across the street and you'll see it.
