Service Church: Orca Recovery Day

Each month we gather in service to our community and for the month of October we will celebrate our theme of REkindle by restoring critical salmon habitat on Orca Recovery Day!

Salmon are an essential food source for our critically endangered Puget Sound Southern Resident Killer Whales. Join NSEA and Whatcom Conservation District to celebrate orcas by restoring critical salmon habitat through planting native trees along the Nooksack River in Ferndale. Parking is located at the Northwest Indian College library parking lot (2522 Kwina Rd. Bellingham.) where you can sign in at the blue NSEA tent and catch a shuttle to the site.

We’ll bring the tools and gloves – all you have to do is wear sturdy shoes and weather-appropriate clothing. Snacks courtesy of The Bagelry and the Community Food Co-Op. Coffee provided thanks to Tony’s Coffee.

Bring your friends, family and enthusiasm, and we’ll see you at the creek! All ages are welcome. Volunteers under 18 years old must bring a Youth Liability Release Form. Minors under 14 years old must be accompanied by an adult.
