Each month Echoes hosts a monthly gathering in which we invite a member from the larger Bellingham community to share about their life - why are they here? what are they doing to make life better here in the ‘ham? how can we learn from them? This month’s guest is Adrien Converse!

Adrien Converse is a surreal artist, musical performer, and co-founder of the local agency Overthink Group. Adrien also happens to be neither a man nor a woman, and writes articles about what it’s like to navigate society’s gender norms without a gender. (You can find that stuff at Deconforming.com.) When they’re not rummaging around for their misplaced keys, you can probably find Adrien hanging out in a very planty part of the woods.

Adrien has an engrossing story, which challenges our understandings and expectations around gender and identity. You won’t want to miss this.

The event is free and open to all; donations are welcome.

Location is the Old Parish Hall, 2116 Walnut St, which is made possible by St Paul’s Episcopal Church

A variety of snacks will be available; feel free to contribute!
