MLK Day Gathering @ Bellingham Unitarian Fellowship

  • 1207 Ellsworth Street Bellingham, WA, 98225 United States (map)

Each year we honor the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. by not only remembering his words, but also enacting his larger vision for unity, peace and justice in the world. Like last year, Echoes will be joining a community-wide event, which is hosted by the Community Food Co-Op and located at Bellingham Unitarian Fellowship. Please come along, too!

In honor of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., the Community Food Co-op will host its 22nd annual MLK Jr. Day event – Keeping the Dream Alive! On this evening, we will celebrate Dr. King’s notion of a “Beloved Community,” with ceremony, song, presentations, and community sharing.

Free. Everyone welcome.

Checo Tohomaso Special Musical Guest (performing throughout the evening). Checo played keyboards and percussion and sang background vocals for the last European tour of Motown legend Marvin Gaye. He has also performed with Lionel Richie and the Commodores, Celine Dion, New Kids on the Block, and Reba McEntire, among others. Checo’s current focus is to communicate the positive, healing qualities of soul music to as many people as possible. Checo will be our musical guest throughout the evening.
