'Hamster Church featuring Robin Rieck

  • 2116 Walnut Street Bellingham, WA, 98225 United States (map)

Each month Echoes hosts a monthly gathering in which we invite a member from the larger Bellingham community to share about their life - why are they here? what are they doing to make life better here in the ‘ham? how can we learn from them? This month’s featured guest is Robin Rieck.

Robin has been a Professor of Business at WWU, and is also a do-everything handyman. In 1978, Robin began meditation through Tibetan Buddhist, which turned into a life-long practice of Shambhala Buddhism. He attended Vajradhatu Seminary, and has been an meditation instructor. Among his many, many pursuits, Robin started a business designing bingo games for non-profits, has been a long-distance cyclist and motorcyclist, has managed a men’s senior baseball team, and currently owns his own handyman business.

We will dive into a bit of Robin’s wisdom regarding meditation. If you’ve ever wondered how meditation can be helpful, or how one should start, or what meditation is, or if you’ve ever wanted to meet a modern-day Rennaissance person, you’ll want to attend this ‘Hamster Church!

Location is the Old Parish Hall, 2116 Walnut St, which is made possible by St Paul’s Episcopal Church
