Wild Church @ Big Rock Garden

  • Big Rock Garden 2900 Sylvan Street Bellingham, WA, 98226 United States (map)

"The more we cultivate our own intimacy with the wild, the more we open to different truth. Wildness doesn’t mean we have to go out into the forest or travel long ways, the wild is a place within us."
— Christine Valters Paintner

Each month we gather around Bellingham outside to wander and worship in Nature. All are invited to join us in our Wild Church gathering where creation provides our sanctuary, the creatures provide our sermon, as we open our hearts to the wild listening of nature, self and others.

Nestled in a grove of evergreens above Lake Whatcom sits a unique city park showcasing original sculptures in a 2.5 acre garden. Meandering paths wander through the peaceful landscape of Big Rock Garden Park, where nature and art complement each other.

Meet us at Big Rock Garden Park for a unique Wild Wandering in a 2.5 acre art park that will allow us to cultivate our inner wildness and take time to notice the tinier created beings who share this earth with us. This gathering meets rain or shine so wear comfortable weather appropriate clothing and footwear and bring a chair or art/writing materials if you would like to reflect creatively during your wandering/noticing. Please wear a mask to protect yourself and others and use social distancing when in Big Rock Garden/reflecting with Echoes.

All are welcome to join us for this time of wild noticing.
