“Everything in Nature is Resurrection”
-William Butler Yeats
Join Echoes for an Easter Wild Church on Sunday 4/17! We will gather outdoors (in all weather) to celebrate the signs of resurrection all around us in Maritime Heritage, one of Bellingham’s well loved & historic parks.
This Easter Sunday we’ll honor resurrection in our lives, cities and lands by worshipping in the original sanctuary, nature. Exploring the ancient story of Jesus, our time together will be spent walking and interacting with all of God’s creation as worship. We’ll honor our ancient stories of the land and its peoples, making space for deep listening to the Sacred all around us. As we wander through the park we will listen to the stories of the earth that are rising up right now as we take notice of the voices of our fellow creatures we share this earth with including birds, fish, squirrels, and trees (some louder than others). We’ll have time for wild communion, so please know that all are welcome to the table (gluten free options available).
Meander through our waterways, admire local Northwest art, traverse the trails of native plants as you hear the call of Wild Resurrection placed on each of our hearts.
Wear comfortable walking shoes, layers and what you need to make your Wild Wander meaningful (water bottle, art supplies, journal, and if needed a chair).
Location: Maritime Heritage Park 500 West Holly Street, Bellingham, WA 98225

Echoes is proud to be a member of the Wild Church Network, In this age of mass extinctions, we feel compelled by the love of Christ to invite people into intimate relationship with some of the most vulnerable victims of our destructive culture: the land, waters, and creatures with whom we share our homes. Wild Church gatherings offer opportunities for contemplation, grief and praise, movement and song, solo wandering and wondering, advocacy, ecological restoration and activism on behalf of and in collaboration with the beloved others in our watersheds.
