Wild Church

  • Lake Whatcom Park 3220 North Shore Road Bellingham, WA, 98226 United States (map)

Each month we gather in nature’s sanctuary to engage in the deeper conversation with all of creation.

Wild Church is an opportunity for us to slow our quick pace and let our hearts, bodies and spirit’s engage the conversation with the natural world that is all around us. Creation is so much more than just a backdrop, it is our grounding. How can we connect deeper with the landscapes, soils and waterways that make up our communities? How can we honor the land and all it offers us with gratitude and wonder? Come wander, pray and find quiet with Echoes. The sun sets at 9:17pm, so we will have plenty of beautiful twilight & sunset to guide our wanderings.

Location: Lake Whatcom Park: 3220 N Shore Rd, Bellingham, WA 98226

Wear appropriate clothing and footwear for whatever the summer weather may bring. Bring a short chair, a blanket, journal or other creative materials that will help you have a conversation with nature. The parking lot is located above the park and will be where we gather until 6:40pm, then we will walk down to our location near the lake together.

From ancient times it has been widely acknowledged that there are Two Books from which we can know God: Scripture and Nature. Echoes is affiliated with The Wild Church Network, and engages in the practice of outdoor worship with Wild Church once a month.
