Easter Walk Wild Church

  • 210 Lottie Street Bellingham, WA, 98225 United States (map)

Join Echoes for our Easter Walk Wild Church through Downtown Bellingham along the waters of Whatcom Creek.

We are looking forward to experiencing this ritual again after a multi year hiatus. Combining place and Scripture, local history and meta-narrative, this event provides deeper meaning for who we are in Bellingham, and who we are in relation to the Biblical story of Easter.
There’s nothing quite like it.

There are many ways to celebrate Easter and the story of resurrection, but we hope you’ll join us outdoors (rain or shine) for a wild wander through Bellingham the city along the noisy waters of Whatcom Creek.

Starting in front of City Hall, we’ll stop at several locations en route to Maritime Heritage Park. At each stop we’ll read some of the Biblical story of the arrest, death, and resurrection of Jesus, and then weave it through our own local history. To finish we’ll gather around the Lummi-made totem pole of Salmon Woman to listen to this Coast Salish creation story, and then share communion.

Around 4pm, following the Easter Walk Wild Church, we’ll walk over to Structures Old Town (new location in the old Chuckanut Brewery) for some light food and beverages and some time for Easter fellowship together!

All Are Welcome to walk and wonder about the power of resurrection this Easter.
