“Prayer is a small fire lit to keep cold hands warm. Prayer is a practice that flourishes both with faith and doubt. Prayer is asking, and prayer is sitting. Prayer is the breath. Prayer is not an answer, always, because not all questions can be answered.” ― Pádraig Ó Tuama
Poem-Prayer-Conversation
At this month’s Creative Church we will explore writing our own collects (pronounced COLL-ects).
These expansive little poems/prayers/conversations have a rich history.
They allow us to express whatever we may be feeling, as well as stretch our imaginations.
The collect is a favorite form of the queer poet and theologian Padraig O’Tuama, host of the radio program/podcast Poetry Unbound.

This creative church is for EVERYONE, especially those with no writing experience!
Writing supplies will be provided (pencils, pens & papers).
If you have a favorite writing journal, you are welcome to bring that too.
We are grateful to have Pastor & Poet Jory Michelson from Faith Lutheran Church facilitating this gathering.
