“How do you get to know any being? Observe, smell, listen, dream, share stories, research, imagine. To really get to know anyone takes time. It takes mind, heart and memory. To pay attention, to attend, is a sensual, devotional, and intellectual act. Through curiosity, we can discover the wildness and wonder in the beings we walk among every day: Salal, Raven, Coyote, Red-osier Dogwood.”
-Elizabeth Bradfield, CMarie Fuhrman, & Derek Sheffield editors of Cascadia Field Guide: Art | Ecology | Poetry
Gather in evening summer sun for a Wild Church with wandering trails, shady lanes and a possible outlook if you are up for a uphill hike amongst beings that we share this region of the earth with!
All are invited to wander with Echoes and engage with nature, her story and allow yourself space (& time) to connect with the original creator. We will have an opportunity for reflection, story and most importantly time to connect your spirit with nature. Seasonal elements will help us honor where creation is (including us) during a warm July evening.
This is an all weather event, so please dress accordingly to your needs and comfort which since it is summer could include heat. We recommend layers, a water bottle, and other items you typically bring for a wilderness walk (with friends!) Whether you are spiritual, religious, nature based, or just curious what a church is doing in the woods, this gathering is for you!
