Did you know that the English word Bead comes from the Old English word "gebed" meaning prayer?
Beads have been associated with prayer for a very long time and across many different religious and spiritual traditions!
At this month’s Creative Church we created our own unique prayer beads. Since the earliest of times, people have used pebbles or a string of knots or beads on a cord to keep track of prayers offered to God. Each bead could represent a prayer, scripture or reminder that some joys, concerns or wordless thoughts, need tangible representation.
Prayer beads offer both structure and spontaneity in prayers and spiritual practices.
