Co-hosted Dinner and Discussion

And [Jesus] said to them, "Take care! Be on your guard against all kinds of greed; for one's life does not consist in the abundance of possessions." (Luke 12:15)

"From greed comes grief, from greed comes fear; one who is free from greed knows neither grief nor fear." (From the Dhammapada 218, the collected sayings attributed to the Buddha as translated by Max Muller from the Pali language.)

Topic: consumerism, greed interior contentment

This dinner and discussion will be co-hosted with Bob Lau, a fascinating guy who is a lawyer, retail sales-person, self-avowed minimalist, and Buddhist teacher. With the combination of Christian and Buddhist traditions, the conversation will likely prove to be engaging, thought-provoking, and enlightening.

It's potluck style! Bring a dish for others to share. Civility, openness, and an ear for listening are all highly encouraged. If you are unable to provide some food, come anyway! Group size is limited to 12 people, so make sure to sign up by emailing us

Our hope is to be challenged, and to build community through conversation and the magic that happens while eating together. If you're concerned about being new or not knowing anyone, be assured that there will be other new people in attendance, too. We'd love to share an evening with you!
