This will be our second dinner and discussion. The first one was fantastic. We all got to know new people, enjoy dinner, and engage in very meaningful conversation around the topic of vulnerability.
As with all dinner and discussions: it's potluck style! Bring a dish for others to share. We'll enjoy the meal, and engage in dialogue over an important topic. Civility, openness, and an ear for listening are all highly encouraged. If you are unable to provide some food, come anyway! Group size is limited to 12 people, so make sure to sign up by texting Charis (see below). We'll share the address of the gathering at that time, too, just so you don't have to guess the whereabouts (we're thoughtful that way).
Topic for discussion will be gleaned from Barbara Brown Taylor's, "An Altar in the World." We'll read a chapter aloud and discuss how we live the sacredness of daily life.
Our hope is to be challenged, and to build community through conversation and the magic that happens while eating together.
To sign up just send a text to Charis (typically it's an email, but Charis is out of town this week!) @ 360.707.8900. Please include your name and how many are coming. There will be new people so if this is your first Echoes event you won't be alone! We hope you can join.
