A few Echo-ites are heading to Yellow Aster Butte for an overnight! Located at Mt Baker, this trail is a solid intermediate for difficulty. Going to the top of the Butte requires a 2500' elevation gain, in a bit less than 4 miles (the campsite will be a bit further). On a clear day, the effort is rewarded beyond belief! 

Getting into the outdoors helps one to breathe easier (at the top of hills, anyway!), to get in touch with self and God, to value our surroundings, to pay attention to the present moment, and to connect with others. Backpacking creates community quickly.
