Ancestral Waters Film Screening & Discussion

Puyallup tribe.jpg

We are excited to host a screening & discussion of the film Ancestral Waters with Earth Ministry.

Register for the event here!

Ancestral Waters is the story of the Puyallup Tribes fight for their treaty, their water, and their way of life. For 164 years, since the signing of the Medicine Creek Treaty, they have had to fight for the guarantees implicit in their treaty. The stand against a proposed Liquified Natural Gas (LNG) facility being built by Puget Sound Energy continues in Tacoma. Currently, the Puyallup Tribe and local environmental groups are appealing a clean air permit, which will have hearings in March 2021. The film documents the Puyallup Tribe’s fight against the Tacoma LNG facility, and their treaty rights that are being disregarded.

We stand in solidarity as people of faith with the Puyallup Tribe, who have lived in the Tacoma area since time immemorial. You can join us for a screening of this film and a facilitated discussion afterwards!
All are welcome.

You can watch the trailer and the film on their website:
