So, we were going to go for a snowshoe. But the Seahawks are making a bid for the Super Bowl today, so let's make this a bit more local in order to get home with plenty of time to heat up the queso sauce, shall we?

On Lake Whatcom's north end there is a lovely trail called the North Lake Whatcom Trail. It's flat (no need to shower before the game!), easily accessible, and can be walked for as much as 3 miles one-way (ergo, 6 miles round trip). Join us for as little or as much of this walk as you'd like. 

Directions to the parking area, from the Fairhaven Runner's page: Drive east on Lakeway Boulevard for 1.7 miles to Electric Avenue. Turn left and after 1.2 miles, at a 3-way intersection, the road becomes Northshore Drive. Continue on Northshore for 8.3 miles. At a North Lake Whatcom Trailhead sign, turn left. The trailhead parking lot is a half-mile farther on the left.

Meet in the parking lot at 11am. Wear appropriate shoes and clothing (Seahawks paraphernalia welcome). Bring human and four-legged friends!!
